Mixed reactions over the involvement of Governor Masari Aide De Camp (ADC) DSP Lawal Ahamadu into politics by organizing chairing & presiding over a political gathering of Masari APC social media supporters that was held at the presidential banquet hall, Old Govt house Katsina.
Katsina Reporters confirmed the report after Masari social media supporters posted pictures of the event and detail report on Gov Masari’s ADC Chairing the event.
DSP Lawal Ahamadu stated that officially he was not in any way supposed to organize or dabble into politics due to the nature of his job, but his love for Governor Masari to remain as Governor made him took the risk by reconciling aggrieved social media Masari supporters.
Activist around the country has lately embarked on a national campaign on police force to stay away from politics to avoid security biased against the opposition.
While responding, most of the social media Masari supporters said they were aggrieved because Governor Masari has chosen to abandon them after campaigning for him back in 2015 election and that even words of appreciation are not accorded to them appropriately.
DSP Lawal Ahamadu promised to extend their message and grievances to Gov Aminu Bello and urged them to continue to support Governor Masari’s gubernatorial ambition.
Katsina Reporters authoritatively conformed that the ADC gave out the sum of N500, 000 to be shared among the social media Masari supporters.
Now the question is, why would a police officer take part in chairing a political gathering? Why would the Governor ADC take political side? Should the Nigeria Police suspend DSP Ahamadu Lawal? Why would DSP Ahamadu Lawal donate the sum of N500, 000?
These are questions that DSP Ahamadu Lawal and Katsina state police command have to provide answers to as opposition and activists awaits a valid rational answer.
